Business Certification Application Assistance

The Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD) offers a variety of assistance for applicants to guide them through the Business Certification application process.

One-on-One Counseling
Certified Business Enterprises (CBEs) applicants may schedule one-on-one counseling sessions with a certification/business development specialist. Our staff is highly knowledgeable and can provide specific information and analysis regarding your business certification application. Please call (202) 727-3900 to schedule an appointment.

Technical Assistance
The DSLBD technical assistance program is designed for all new and existing CBE applicants. Our Business Development Specialists are trained to help applicants reduce processing errors and improve application response time. Start-up companies are highly encouraged to take advantage of this venue. Please call (202) 727-3900 for more information on technical assistance.

Orientation Programs
CBE applicants are encouraged to participate in a group orientation program prior to submitting an application for LBOC review. The program is designed to answer both general and specific questions that pertain to the LSDBE certification and to provide fundamental information about the Office of Contracting and Procurement.

Orientation programs are held monthly and are free of charge. Special group orientation programs can be scheduled, including evening sessions. Entrepreneurs interested in the CBE group orientation program should contact the DSLBD at (202) 727-3900 for scheduling availability.
